The Milton Keynes Young Musician of the Year competition is part of the annual Milton Keynes Festival of the Arts for Dance, Music and Drama, Milton Keynes' largest and longest-running annual festival of performing arts for amateurs of all ages and levels of ability and is sponsored by Kawai Pianos.
The Young Musician event is a showcase for up to 8 performers chosen from that year's music festival who are aged 18 or under and are selected by the committee and music festival adjudicators.
The event is judged by two music industry professionals with each performer showcasing their talents to an appreciative audience. Each performer is awarded an amount of prize money, a certificate and a non-returnable trophy.
In 2017 the judges will be conductor, teacher, perfomer, adjudicator Mr Andrew Sherwood and Mr Hilary Davan Wetton, founder of the Milton Keynes Music Service and Milton Keynes City Orchestra and eminent musician and conductor. The event will be held on Saturday 11 March 2017 at The Venue MK at 2.30 pm.
We very much value an audience for this event - just turn up - £3 adults / £2 OAPs and children free
